About Us

The Western New York Family Care Consortium (WNYFCC) is an association of unions and businesses that are working together to support the family care needs of their 12,000 members and employees by creating programs and services to fill unmet community needs. Current members are:

UAW Local 424 / American Axle and Manufacturing
UAW Local 846 / American Axle and Manufacturing
UAW Local 686 / Delphi Thermal Systems
UAW Local 774 / General Motors Powertrain

The initiative was launched in 1996 with an initial focus on childcare programs and services. The Synergy Group of Buffalo, New York, is retained as WNYFCC’s consulting and management firm. The Synergy Group manages the effort for the unions and businesses and is responsible for program planning, development and implementation.

 

The Western New York Family Care Consortium supports the following mission statement:

To respond to the diverse needs of parents working for Western New York Family Care Consortium companies

To enhance the quality and expand the supply of affordable and convenient childcare programs available to Western New York families

To dedicate the necessary financial resources and cooperatively provide administrative direction needed to realize the goals of the Western New York Family Care Consortium companies

To champion public / private partnerships and serve as a change agent for employer-supported childcare initiatives
